The 2009 Garden is In

April 19, 2009

Yesterday I headed over to Regan's Nursery to get some tomatoes - they have everything, so I was able to get some unusual varieties.  4 cuke plants - 1 of them is Lemon Cucumbers, and this year I put in canteloupe and strawberries.

Yesterday I headed over to Regan's Nursery to get some tomatoes - they have everything, so I was able to get some unusual varieties.  4 cuke plants - 1 of them is Lemon Cucumbers, and this year I put in canteloupe and strawberries.

I wanted to get my herb garden going to and checked my container that is right off the back kitchen door and was surprised to see that the oregano I had planted last year - is back!  Cool!

I am waiting for Regan's to get in the other varieties I am looking for - Yellow pear tomoatoes, and zebras.  My seeds haven't sprouted yet that I put out in the office.  I also got one of those topsy turvy things at Home Depot for $9.99 and am trying that out with some beefstakes.  I might go get a couple more of those things and do additional cucumbers so I can make more pickles this summer.

It was very warm this weekend so I can practically watch my artichokes get larger!  I currently have 8; some of which are between golfball and tennis bal size; some are much smaller but they are growing QUICKLY!  More later!
