Gobble Gobble Gobble

It's turkey time again!  Not to be outdone by my scooter-riding friend, Joan, (this would have been quite a sight to see - I wish she had taken pictures!), today I got out before the rain started and got the qualifying amount of groceries to buy one turkey and get one free.

It's turkey time again!  Not to be outdone by my scooter-riding friend, Joan, (this would have been quite a sight to see - I wish she had taken pictures!), today I got out before the rain started and got the qualifying amount of groceries to buy one turkey and get one free.

I knew it was going to be an interesting load, so I put one turkey in one of my saddlebags and crammed groceries around it, and more groceries in the other and realized I'd have to strap something to the cargo net - why not the turkey?  Nothing to blow around that way.  It worked!

This year's menu includes a buttermilk brined turkey, (recipe from Jeff's Smokin' Meats), a deep fried turkey, the usual trimmings plus my new mashed potato recipe which I'll need to post shortly, Pumpkin Angel Food cake (so good!), Choinard Granny Smith Apple wine, Spinach Pie from Joan, and a lot of assorted munchies.  No one leaves my house hungry!
