The Story of Big Head

January 10, 2004

On December 29, 2003, about a half hour after sunset, I went outside to get some firewood and was greeted by a sizeable, muscular, large-headed striped cat. He was very friendly and I figured Kimba had brought him home; she was there and didn't mind him. I brought him some food, petted him and that was that. Since then, he has come over every night just after sunset most of the time. He lives 1/4 mile up the street from us; I used a message tube and a collar to send 'c-mail' and locate his owner. George named him "Big Head" and when I took him to the vet to be fixed, I said "His name is Big Ed." He is very charming and comes in to visit every evening. Sometimes he comes in for breakfast, but rarely. I have yet to see him in the light of day! His 'daytime owner' says that he has a cat door and comes and goes as he pleases, but spends most of the daytime in their house. Surprising that a (now) neutered male would travel so far each day!
