January Gloom Part 2

Date: January 9, 2012

The first part was written in 2006 - I talked about how bad the month of January is and how it holds no promise for the bulk of us who don't get special holidays like MLK day off (back then I was freelancing so it was different).  This year I feel the same about January, despite our sunny (drought?) weather, but January still sucks, but I think I've figured out why.

Holiday Letdown.  Pure and simple.  Let's see.  Summertime leads to the fall (and the summer is fun!) and then we hit Halloween which is fun for adults (now).  That slides directly into a nice 4 day weekend for Thanksgiving, and then into the festive holiday season.

Then, SUDDENLY, January hits and there we are. Back into the gloom again...no holidays, it's business as usual and it is just....bleak.

Until the next time something gets me...might be a rant about Corp. America dragging my sorry butt into meetings so I can't get my work done...yep I think that one is next...
