Facebook Frustration

Date: January 1, 2025

I frequent Facebook. I admit it. Maybe it's considered old school now to all of the young people (under 50) but I am always on Facebook. I love reading the posts - but for the last 3 or 4 months, there is this practice of putting up a partial post/thought and it says "continued in the comments." WHAT KIND OF S--T IS THAT?

Backing up - I enjoy reading funny stuff there, have connected with some groups that resonate with my various interests, hobbies and lifestyle. It's what you make it - it can be a bad place but I prefer to keep it as a good place - never offering too much of myself, not getting involved in politics and all of that other junk. So reading up on something, I've done that clicking into the comments and most of the time, it's some kind of ad. It sucks.

One thing on Facebook I see a lot of are those targeted ads - we all see them. Here's a tip - if you see something cool on Facebook, look it up on Amazon. I do that and 9 times out of 10, it's at least 20% cheaper on Amazon. Those Facebook ads must be pricey! I've gotten my share of scams - I ordered some heated gloves that were completely bogus. They had a power button silkscreened on - no way to plug them in, etc., but the photo showed differently. Today I received a floor sign (well I thought it was going to be a floor sign) that was a cautionary sign about cat puke. I thought it would be a couple of feet high to put on the floor like a "wet floor" sort of thing. Nope. It is about 4" high. Great for my desk. What?

So, that's my rant about Facebook. Not too 'ranty' as I try not to get caught up in the small stuff. It takes up too much energy and rental space in my head. The art of letting go has been a tough one to learn, but I owe my enlightenment to a friend of mine, Bill W. Thanks Bill!
