So now this is my Blog

This site is undergoing such metamorphosis right now...I thought about writing an article about it and where would it post? In its structure that I had it until about 2 minutes ago, it would have been a news item. But is it news? I think my Opinion pieces are not; they are more blog-like in style. So, the Opinion piece, formerly my Rants - is now my Blog. Why not? I have lots of random thoughts every day and sometimes I want to write about them. It's fun to look back at what was on my mind even if no one ever reads this but me. It's an online journal.
So why now, after all of these years, have I decided to officially have something called a blog?
Again, why not?
I might go somewhere on an errand and encounter something weird in the frozen meats section that warrants my attention and some amusing thoughts...or maybe I am having 'deep thoughts' about something on a more philosophical level, or even a fun fact about a celebrity of current stature or past. When I see something, I often want to write but didn't really have a medium to do so.
Should I start a mailing list? I might. As I've said - I don't think anyone is even reading this. I once had a mailing list but evil spammers have really made maintaining a mailing list difficult; I don't want to have to pay for something that is just for fun for me. Right? I have another blog piece in me that I'll set for a future date - all about being a programmer and how it is when you come up with something, see that it should be bigger and then you obsess on it until you finally sit down and write the flipping thing.
When I started in this field, I never thought programming would be a creative thing, but I have proven that wrong over and over and over again for nearly three decades. Gulp. WHERE DID THE TIME GO? Somewhere...
