Kitchen is getting a boost
The kitchen has recently gotten some nice little upgrades - nothing major like new cabinets or anything, but a fresh coat of paint, a new refrigerator, stenciling and cabinet knobs.
The new refrigerator is a Samsung and the thing is so smart it scares me. It actually will close its own doors if you leave them open(!) As long as one of the cats doesn't get in there, I'm okay with that. It has a 'deli' compartment with adjustable humidiy and the crisper containers are like that too. It's HUGE and I've managed to fill it up (d'oh!).
The stove hood is being painted as of this writing - what a God-awful chore that was to pull out. I don't think it's been out since the early 70s and it was disGUSting to say the least. Had to handle it with rubber gloves and full strength amonia and hot water. Wore out a scrubby sponge on that one. And the wiring was done with electrical tape - not the wire nuts that you're supposed to use. I have found lots of stuff like that around here; it's a wonder my house is still standing!
The next thing to be replaced in the kitchen is the oven - it's on its way out. It quit self cleaning quite a few years ago and now the clock on it stopped. Oh well...it's a weird size but I've got to start looking around...
The rainy weather has us indoors doing lots of painting and stuff - just wait until the good weather--new paint outside and some nice bushes out front, and of course...the veggie garden!
More later!!!
