Stompin' Shoes On

So I had my 2 week follow up yesterday and everything is healing nicely.  I was put into a boot (Das Boot) and I have to wear it ALL THE TIME (even while sleeping) and take it off about 3x a day to do flex exercises.  I have asked if I could treadle on my spinning wheel...I have a spacer thing for my other foot so I'm not uneven - which would make my back a mess!

The pain level has been minimal - it hurt a lot more before the surgery.  It was keeping me up all night long - only allowing me about 3-4 hours of any kind of deep(ish) sleep.  The worst post-surgical pain was the Saturday morning after.  It crescendo'd about 8am, just as the last Norco I took was wearing off.  It spiked, went down, and I began with the XS Tylenol - 2 of them.  I did that twice, then slept through my 12:30am 'dose time' and from then on, it has been smooth sailing. 

I'll be wearing this lovely fashion accessory for about 8-10 weeks.  There was swelling which was kind of scary but my doctor indicated that was probably the soft cast being loose and not compressing that part.  So, I'm on the mend!
