New Addition to My Stable

October 1, 2026

The laser engraver has entered the building.  I had a couple of these I got for my husband for Christmas last year and he was reluctant to set them up so I sold both of them.  Regrets there...but there's a new one now...I wanted to venture out into making leather patches for hats.  Add that to my repetoire

I have a WeCreat Vista.  It went on crazy, insane sale and I decided to try it out.  It's only 10w but it does a LOT and it's large!  I can make large signs, and did a few flat things and, of course, leather.  It's really fun!  I chose this model because it came with an air exhaust system which is pretty critical for indoor use.  I have 3" flex tubing going to a port sitting in a window, so it just goes right out.  Still sort of smells like a campfire in here.

This is an awful lot of fun, and I quickly realized how they made the inserts in my hammered dulcimer.  Easy to do with one of these!  I am going to create more with it - this was the first multi layered, multi piece thing I have made.  Being a serial crafter, I had all of the paints on hand to do my finishing work.  More on this as it develops...
