So this has gone completely viral on the Internet...Bernie Sanders sporting his mittens on Innaguration Day!  I made about 20 of them...I am working on getting them posted somewhere...

Still Sheltering in Place
Posted November 22, 2020

So we are still under quarrantine, and here comes Thanksgiving - just four days from now.  It's been a strange year!  We are all working from home in my department, and management has had to remind us to take breaks, time off, etc.  It seems that we get more done working from home than in the office!

Here we go for another month

So we are under quarantine until at least May 3rd.  I never thought anything like this could happen, but here we are.  Grocery stores have empty shelves...there is tape on the floor spaced 6' apart so we are practicing proper "social distancing" as they are calling it.

Strange Times Upon Us
Posted March 23, 2020

This time in history is awfully strange.  I never thought we'd have anything like this happen and I wonder if the media is being twisted by inducing all of this.  It just takes me to the opening lines of Tale of Two Cities.  I'm not exactly a scholar by any means, but this resonates today from centuries ago!  So here we are, all on lockdown.  We aren't supposed to go out for anything except "essentials."  But it's funny how many people were waiting for the doors to open at Total Wine this last weekend...

Total Knee Replacement - Day 16
Posted January 4, 2020

So these two X-Rays were taken right after I woke up from the procedure.  The bright white parts are the new parts - they even resurfaced my patella (knee cap).  I had a breakthrough yesterday 6 hours after some grueling physical therapy - I couldn't lift my leg more than a couple of inches off the table.  I was told my muscles have temporarily forgotten how to do it and if I work both sides, it'll come back.

Total Knee Replacement - Day 9
Posted December 28, 2019

I meant to start blogging about this sooner...but I've felt so crappy up to this poi it may have had 5000 miles left on it.  I was terrified and put off the inevitable, using glucosamine and tumeric - and cortisone shots - to control the pain, and then it went off the rails again.  The "Hail Mary" approach was a remedy called Suppartz - which is a gel they inject once a week for 3 weeks made of chicken combs.  This was great for about one day each time I received an injection.  But, by August, it was obvious I needed the Real Deal.
