My last day of Unemployment...

February 23, 2009

So I get to start a new job where I get to do all kinds of web geek stuff - my kind of fun.  You know what they say - "Do something you love and you'll never work another day in your life."  Yep.   So, on my last day of being nemployed, I put together an organizer for my belly rings.  It's amazing how many I've collected since I took the dare and got it done 6 months ago.  (I just changed it for the first time days ago)...

I got creative..what can I say...

I need to get this a little bit straighter - it's sort of 'rustic' to say the least.  When I first assembled it, all of them turned around backwards, so I had to dismantle it and turn it around until gravity became my friend, and all of the jewels and danglers faced forward by themselves.

I have been searching for a nice little thing like this online and no one seems to have one.  Remember in the70s when you could get a little 'ladder' to put all of your earrings in?  For some reason these things have become extinct or something.  I went to Tap Plastics, got out the Dremel tool and a heat gun and went to work...and the dreadful acrylic glue.  I got more on my hands than anyplace else!! Anyway, I think once I make a nice, streamlined version of it, it'll be nice, and maybe it would be something that would sell.

Belly rings are thick metal - 14 gauge.  I was surprised how easy mine was to change - I was deathly afraid of trying to change it - my nose was a big challenge until recently, but it just slipped in like butt-ah as they say.  I wore dangling cherries for a few days before returning to my royal blue jeweled stud since I went for a ride Saturday and didn't want to have any dangling jewels get in the way.

Anyhow, tomorrow is my Big Day!  I'm excited--I have a good feeling about this....
