Tortoni Presentation

This is a frozen dessert that my mom made for years and years each Christmas. She used to present it into a tree shaped mold and decorate it. I had been serving it in festive muffin wrappers...and then I thought of this.

What did we do without Amazon? I found these little 3.5 ounce square cups with lids. It's a great way to present them and they will freeze and keep well this way. The tortoni is a delicious thing - I can share the recipe - it's pretty easy to make. It's made with egg whites and sugar and almond flavoring - it's almost like ice cream, but very, very light. Always fun to garnish with ground or slivered almonds topped with candied colorful cherries.
