8 months and 4 days later

December 18, 2013

March 14, 2013 was the first day I set foot into the Weight Watchers Center over on Paseo Padre.  I was horrified at my starting weight and how I looked and felt.  Now 8 months and 4 days later, I have accomplished a deletion of a little over 40 lbs.

Still a little fluffy but I can tuck my shirt in now

Sure it takes time, planning and effort, but it is not a diet; it's a lifestyle change.  I still have my wine, I will have a bite of a dessert, but all of my meals are planned and it's become a way of life.  It's not as hard as it sounds, really.    I know I'll eat french fries and may indulge in a sausage egg mcmuffin - but I don't want to do that for a long time.  :-)

I am even working on returning to the ice.  I'm thinking if Santa puts $$$ in my stocking, I'll order a pair of padded tights that protect my hips and tailbone so I can get up the courage to spin and stuff.  I went yesterday and didn't feel disasterous as I did the last time I skated.

It's going to take about 8 more months to get where I want but it's a fabulous journey to be on - discarding first the 22s, the 20s, the 18s, the 16s and 14s.  I am living proof that significant weight loss (but I don't like to call it loss) IS INDEED possible after age 45.
