November already!

November 1, 2023

Hard to believe it's November already!  It's been quite a year...just yesterday, it seems, I was getting 'tendon debridement' on my achilles.  That was in early August.  I've been working from home since then, going back next Monday.  Wow.  It seems like an eternity since August but then again, it doesn't.

The passage of time increases as we get older due to the relative time that we've been alive.  It sounds crazy, but in reality, it is true.  This month is going to mark a very sad anniversary of Simone's passing.  I remember a year ago, seeing her go downhill, and I knew what was coming.  This year, I'm seeing my mom's health flutter.  She's 95 (and a half!) and I don't know how many more Thanksgivings and Christmases she has left.

It's always around the holidays...when we lose people.  I remember 1998 when we lost my dad the week before Christmas.  The list goes on and on and it's somber.  Look at me being a bummer before the holidays!  Didn't mean to do that - I must count my blessings too, and wish I had made my lifestyle change I started March 16, 2021 long before that date.  If I had, I think I would be a leader in my industry instead of a "worker bee."  But, I have learned that I am exactly where I'm supposed to be right now.

So I shall continue.

Didn't mean to be a downer.
